Applications

Insulate, protect for drilling, prevent corrosion

Diverse combinations of glass fibres, resins and special fillers determine — together with the layer thickness — the technical properties each project requires.

    Insulation · LNG

    Cryogenic insulation for LNG lines

Insulating LNG transmission systems by hand takes a lot of time and is not always the most economical or reliable way. Blue Jetty offers a fast, efficient method for cryogenic insulation on jetty lines and pipes at LNG terminals.

    • High fire retardancy and thermal performance
    • Suitable for temperatures down to −165 °C (−265 °F)
  • Drilling rig and pipe string at an HDD site at sunset

    Mechanical · HDD

    Shield for horizontal directional drilling

A long-wearing shield of special coatings protects pipes from mechanical damage while they are pulled in. Material thickness is easily adapted to the protection required.

    • Experience with pipes from 6″ to 48″
    • Gravel, rock, clay and sand
  • Truck carrying a load of coated pipes on the motorway

    Corrosion · CP

    Corrosion prevention

Cathodic protection is costly to install and must be monitored for as long as the pipe is in service. Special coatings applied with the Blue Jetty unit are an effective and economical alternative worth considering — underground and in water.

    • Glass-fibre reinforced coatings on underground oil and gas tanks: effective for over 40 years

The unit

A spray-winding machine that comes to the pipes

The spray-winding machine moves gradually alongside the rotating pipe and applies one or more layers of composite homogeneously on to the pipe. The composites vary: different glass fibres, specific resins and special fillers.

The unit is designed in parts, so it can be built up where it is needed. It travels by container and is installed at locations around the world, where skilled specialists operate the machine.

  • Coating applied on location, tailored to each customer
  • Transported by container, easily installed and dismounted
  • Operated by our own specialists

Quality

Constant quality, monitored during production

During the production process Blue Jetty monitors and maintains a constant quality. The latest machine technology gives a very accurate and consistent application — pipe after pipe, according to the specifications of the customer.

It is a proven protection system for effective, efficient, fast and economical solutions, even during tough and long drillings in soils with rock and gravel.
